KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Two Portage Public School principals are out of jobs after resigning from their positions on Thursday.
Superintendent Mark Bielang sent out a letter to families saying that Woodland Elementary Principal Allison Taylor and Central Elementary Principal Bill Dygert have both submitted their resignations, effective Monday April 2nd.
Central Elementary Engagement Specialist Sara Wagenaar and former Woodland Elementary School Principal Mark Root will both serve as Interim Principals as the district searches for replacements.
Both letters wished Taylor and Dygert the best and thanked them for their service at Portage schools.
The two were placed on administrative leave on March 20th, but school officials said it was not a disciplinary action and no students were involved in the situation.
