ALGANSEE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) — Three home invasion suspects picked the wrong house to rob in Branch County’s Algansee Township early Wednesday morning.
Michigan State Police say the incident on Berlew Road near the Hillsdale County line took place at about 12:30 a.m. as the three suspects tried to gain entry into an occupied dwelling.
The suspects tried to break in the front door and broke multiple windows, but the homeowners tried to protect themselves by firing multiple rounds from a weapon.
The suspects fled the area driving a full size four door sedan.
One of the suspects was dropped off at Promedica Coldwater Regional Hospital with a superficial and non-life threatening gunshot wound to the chest.
A hospital spokesperson said the 19-year-old male was treated before being transferred to an unknown hospital.
The other two occupants fled after dropping the shooting victim off.
