KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan residents including at least 6,000 in the Kalamazoo area could lose their Medicaid expansion benefits after this month.
Patients enrolled into the Healthy Michigan health insurance plan must take the “Health Risk Assessment” with their primary care provider to pick a healthy behavior every year.
Dr. Dennis Means Chief Medical Officer of the Family Health Center in Kalamazoo says it all begins with a phone call.
Patients can call their primary care physician and schedule the assessment and then the doctor can submit the documents to the insurance company.
If Healthy Michigan patients do not do the assessment by March 31st, they could see changes to their medical coverage or lose certain benefits.
