KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A mature drug dealer is in custody and facing additional charges after he thought he could outrun Public Safety Officers on foot.
The 48-year-old man was pulled over for a traffic violation at about 2 a.m. Thursday in the 800 block of Woodward Avenue when he apparently panicked and made a run for it.
He did not get far before he was tackled in a nearby yard. It took two Public Safety officers to subdue him and get him cuffed.
He was in possession of multiple bags of crack cocaine and heroin ready for sale.
He was booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail for drug possession and distribution and resisting and obstructing.
