LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — A bill clarifying what drivers should do when a traffic light is out is now moving to the Michigan House of Representatives for consideration.
Senator Rick Jones of Grand Ledge is proposing legislation that all drivers must treat intersections as a four-way stop when the traffic signal is out.
He says that although most drivers are taught this, the bill would help make sure all Michiganders are on the same page.
Jones added that treating all intersections as four-way stops during an outage might slow down traffic, but it’s worth it if it can help save lives.
