KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The last shelter set up by the Red Cross following recent flooding in southern Michigan closes Sunday now that the displaced homeowners and renters in the Berrien Springs area have been able to return home or find temporary living arrangements on their own.
Red Cross officials at their Southwest Michigan Headquarters in Oshtemo say they continue to operate mobile feeding operations and distribute emergency supplies.
They say they also have 110 disaster response volunteers working one on one with families to provide advice and assistance to help in their recovery.
They say they will continue the work until needs have been addressed.
