LAWTON (WKZO AM/FM) — Stupidity comes in many forms, but an example in Van Buren County could have been fatal.
We are withholding the names to protect the not too bright. A group of Lawton teens took turns shooting each other wearing body armor that was reported stolen from a Lawton home.
The high school students videotaped the whole thing.
They apparently just didn’t know any better. Such protective gear may be bullet resistant, but it’s not bullet proof and this particular vest was reportedly used, worn in spots and past its usable life.
The fact that they were using .22 caliber guns and not weapons with more muzzle velocity may have also helped.
Their parents have taken away their guns and the teens are under investigation and could possibly face criminal charges.
