BERRIEN SPRINGS (WKZO AM/FM) — The Red Cross has moved its last remaining shelter in Berrien Springs, which was hard hit by last month’s flooding along the St. Joseph River.
It had been at the Berrien Springs Middle School, but they plan to reopen Monday, so the Shelter was moved Sunday to the Village Seventh Day Adventist Church on Joseph Avenue.
At the worst of the flooding, dozens took up temporary residence at the shelter, until they could return to their damaged homes.
They say additional humanitarian disaster relief efforts including distribution of emergency supplies, disaster assessment and feeding continue around Michigan.
