KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Local municipalities and relief organizations will use the 211 phone system as the way that flood victims can connect with services and agencies participating in recovery efforts.
The Gryphon place in Kalamazoo will compile a needs assessment list. The damage assessment process has begun with over 100 homes already inspected and many more to go.
The American Red Cross and the Salvation Army are gearing up to help provide recovery materials and counseling.
The Salvation Army has received a shipment of clean-up kits that contain cleaning tools, soaps, gloves and disinfectants that can be used to clean homes.
Flood victims can pick up a kit for free at the Salvation Army on South Burdick Street Wednesday from 8:30am to 4pm.
Goodwill in Southwest Michigan is offering a $100 voucher to any flood victims who need to replace clothing, furniture or other household items.
All you need to do is leave your name and address at a store, or give them a call and they will issue the voucher.
Goodwill CEO John Dillworth says they have to be used by the end of March.
