UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — The Better Business Bureau of West Michigan has issued list of do’s and don’ts for flood victims who could be targeted by scam artists and storm chasers.
They make a living preying on people at the most vulnerable time in their lives.
Phil Catlett with the BBB says the bogus contractors can be very persuasive and slick, but you are far better off taking your time and doing your homework first.
He recommends only working with local firms, getting bids, doing contracts, doing background checks and never pay for the whole job up front.
