EAST LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Survivors of former Michigan State University doctor Larry Nassar are calling for the resignation of a university trustee.
Kalamazoo native, Rachel Denhollander and two other victims sent a letter to MSU’s interim President John Engler asking for Trustee Dan Kelly’s resignation.
The women stated that, “Kelly is the worst person to lead the University forward from the Larry Nassar scandal.”
Kelly has been on the board for 2 years but has also worked as a private attorney for schools during sex abuse civil cases.
The victims said “Mr. Kelly built a career defending schools that ignored allegations of sexual assault against children.”
Last week Michigan State’s faculty Senate passed a vote of no-confidence in the Board of Trustees and two trustees have already announced that they will not run for re-election.
