EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan State University Board of Trustees met for the first time since the Faculty Senate called for their resignations with a vote of no confidence. The Trustees ignored that and pressed on with their own agenda, dealing with a number of protestors in the audience.
One of the items on the agenda, approving an administrative solution to the sex abuse issues raised by the Larry Nassar scandal, by combining health programs on campus, was proposed by Interim President John Engler.
Many in the audience stated it’s going to take more than just moving pieces on the chess board to fix the problem, they said it’s a cultural issue, and there is a need for new leadership, starting with the board.
Trustees say they have only started making changes and asked for patience.
