GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) – The former Executive Director of the Calhoun Conservation District has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly embezzling more than a half million dollars between 2014 and 2017 from the organization.
United States Attorney Andrew Birge says Tracy Lynn Bronson of Marshall has been charged with five counts of theft concerning programs receiving federal funds.
The indictment states that the District got over $10,000 from the E.P.A. and/or the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. The indictment further alleges that Bronson issued a series of unauthorized checks to herself between 2014 until 2017 that were drawn on the Calhoun Conservation District’s credit union account that totaled over $500,000.
Bronson is facing up to 50 years in federal prison if she is convicted on all five counts.
