LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — Attorney General Bill Schuette is encouraging Michiganders to donate to a new monument to honor Michigan’s Law Enforcement.
The Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Monument Fund Commission launched a new website to raise $350,000 to begin construction on a memorial monument to honor officers who have fallen in the line of duty.
The memorial monument will be located south of the Vietnam Memorial, near the State Capitol building in Lansing and will have the names of fallen officers engraved on metal panels.
Residents can donate to the creation of the monument by going to michigan.gov/mleom.
From now until October 1, 2018, any donations made will be doubled through a state matching grant.
