EAST LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — The MSU Faculty Senate has voted 61 to 4 to issue a statement of no confidence in the Board of Trustees and call for the Trustees to resign.
They had several reasons, including the hiring of John Engler as Interim President, their handling of the Nassar scandal and the fact that faculty was not consulted before many of the decisions were made.
The vote is not binding and the Board of Trustees seems determined to defend the institution, from pending lawsuits, even if it offends the students and staff who make that institution work.
Just before the Faculty Senate Voted, the University announced that it will be hiring Jim Blanchard’s Washington Law Firm to advise them on how MSU officials should respond to questions at congressional hearings.
MSU says it will also hire Krol to investigate past and future title 9 complaints to try and speed up how quickly they are handled. Krol was the same firm hired by Harvey Weinstein to investigate and discredit his accusers.
