MISSOULA, MT (WTVB) – There were hopes last fall that there would be closure in the disappearance of three brothers from Morenci, Michigan after three sets of facial bones were found at a home in Missoula, Montana. But those hopes have been dashed.
The County Coroner’s Office in Missoula says the bones are not the remains of the three boys who have been missing for over seven years.
They have determined the bones are over 99 years old and had been buried “for some time” before they were uncovered and exposed to the elements.
Andrew, Alexander and Tanner Skelton have been missing since the day after Thanksgiving in 2010.
Their father is serving a 15-year prison sentence for unlawful imprisonment in the case. He says he gave his sons away, and there have been very few clues as to their whereabouts since then.
