KALAMAZOO COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A home invasion in Texas Township that included an exchange of gunfire and an uncooperative homeowner is being investigated by Kalamazoo County Deputies.
It began with a report of a burglary just after 5:30pm Monday evening at a home in the 7500 block of 10th Street.
Deputies processed the scene for evidence and looked around for suspects but didn’t find any.
At about 9:00pm the owner found a suspect hiding in the basement. The suspect made a run for a waiting car in the driveway, exchanging gunfire with the homeowner during the escape.
They don’t think anyone was hit.
They are looking for three males in an older model red Ford Explorer.
The homeowner didn’t want to let deputies back into his home the second time, so they left.
