EAST LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan State University Trustee Joel Ferguson went on an East Lansing radio station, and was asked about the scandal involving former USA Gymnastics and MSU doctor Larry Nasser, and by the end of the day issue another statement regretting much of what he said the first time.
Ferguson dismissed the Nassar case as just one of many issues they deal with and referring to it as that “Nassar thing”. He also laughed at the notion that this was anything like Penn State and doubted that the NCAA would investigate.
The statements sparked outrage from the victims at his indifference and last night the NCAA announced they will be investigating. They said in a letter to MSU that they want information on any possible violations because of the actions of Larry Nasser and other staff who may have been involved.
MSU is formulating a response.
