SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The search is on for two armed men who held up a convenience store south of downtown South Haven just around dawn today.
According to local police, the suspects walked into the Shell station off Broadway and Superior Streets shortly after 7:00 a.m., armed with semiautomatic handguns, and took an undisclosed amount of money. The clerk on duty was shaken but unhurt.
In the statement to local media outlets, Police Chief Natalie Thompson said that, “Suspect #1 is described as a light-complected black male, wearing dark colored jeans and a black hoody sweatshirt, and covered a portion of his face with what appeared to be a dark blue handkerchief. He is 5-10 to six-feet tall with a stocky build, was described as having a big nose, and is estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old. He was armed with a two-tone semiautomatic handgun.
“Suspect #2 was also a light-complected black male, wearing dark colored jeans and a black jacket with a white hood. He covered his face with a Spiderman mask. He is also 5-10 to six-feet tall with a stocky build and is estimated to be in his early 30s. He was armed with a silver semiautomatic handgun.”
