KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety responded to reports of shots fired in the 900 block of North Westnedge at about 4:30 Saturday morning, and spotted a car racing away from the scene, chasing it to Bronson Emergency.
A 43-year-old Kalamazoo resident who had sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen was rushed inside for emergency surgery.
A handgun was recovered from the vehicle.
Detectives are still trying to sort out what happened.
