DETROIT (WKZO AM/FM) — This isn’t your grandfather’s auto industry anymore…that is evident as Detroit welcomes the media from across the globe to the 2018 North American International Auto Show for a second and final day at Cobo Hall.
There to greet the media was Governor Rick Snyder who says the event has come a long way back since the Great Recession.
One big difference, there are fewer autos and more Utility vehicles and Pick-ups.
As the auto industry goes, so goes Michigan and with sales waning, fleets going electric, autonomous vehicles on the horizon and more players getting into the auto game, there is uncertainty and heightened competition at this year’s auto show.
Charlie Chesboro with Kelly.com says that means spending more on marketing and incentives.
The Auto Show opens to the public on Saturday.
