ST. JOSEPH COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A group of children playing outside near Wakeman and River Run Roads in Mendon Township came across a bucket with some plastic bottles with mysterious liquids in them and dragged it home.
Their parents got one look at it and called police. It turned out to be a highly caustic byproduct of meth-making that could have caused burns and other injuries according the State Police news release on the incident.
This usually happens a few months from now, when spring melts away the snow and flowers bloom among the used meth labs that have been dumped along rural roadways over the winter.
State Police say parents should tell their children to stay away from such trash and notify police to dispose of the hazardous wastes.
