VOLINIA TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) –A senior citizen from Marcellus suffered life-threatening injuries and had to be airlifted to Bronson Methodist in Kalamazoo Saturday morning, following a weather related crash.
Cass County Deputies say they believe that 70-year-old Marilyn Koyl lost control of her vehicle on icy Marcellus Highway, crossed the centerline and struck a truck, sending both vehicles spinning into ditches on either side of the road.
The couple in the truck, Carl and Sherry Shelby of Decatur, who are both 56 years of age, were transported by ambulance to Three Rivers hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The Shelby’s were wearing their seatbelts. Ms. Koyl was not strapped in and is listed in critical condition at the Bronson I.C.U.
