CASS COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A Police K-9 dog earned his kibble Thursday when Silver Creek Township Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress a house on Magician Lake Terrace.
By then the burglars had fled, leaving behind the car they drove to the scene of the crime.
Faust, the Sheriff’s Department tracking dog picked up their scent at the back door of the home and followed it for a half mile through several yards and a wooded area.
He then flushed out the two thieves who were hiding in the woods.
A 26-year-old from Michigan City and a 29-year-old from Elkhart were arrested for breaking and entering and jailed.
