MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says it has found the suspect in an I-69 hit-and-run crash at a residence in Perry.
They announced on Facebook they know who the driver is but did not publicly identify the driver or specify if an arrest had been made.
Detective Sgt. Steven Hinkley says the investigation into the crash is continuing and the results will be forwarded to the Calhoun County Prosecutors Office. Hinkley added no additional information can be released at this time.
Officials say a pickup truck driver helped another car out of a ditch on southbound I-69 near the 45 mile marker and then backed into oncoming traffic on Wednesday, where an SUV collided with the pickup and was then hit by a semi-truck.
The pickup fled the scene, and the SUV driver was sent to Borgess Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
