KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo reached a wind-chill of 20 below overnight, and it will remain cold with periods of system snow followed by lake effect snow, primarily along the lake shore.
Over the next 24 to 36 hours That means hazardous driving and hazardous walking.
It also means you probably don’t want to slide off with being properly dressed or equipped with a cellphone.
The national death toll from this relentless cold spell has risen to 11, and at least one of them occurred in Michigan. A man froze to death outside a Detroit church earlier this week.
Compounding the problem will be a regular snow event followed by lake effect. Doctors are telling people to leave as little skin as possible exposed by wearing hats, gloves scarves and leggings.
