PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — A family of eight living at the Colonial Acres Mobile Home Park in Portage had to climb out a bedroom window, with the help of a neighbor to escape a fast moving fire that started late Monday morning.
The first arriving fire crews say heavy smoke and fire coming from the front two-thirds of the home on Yarmouth.
One of the two adults and one of the six young teens living in the mobile home suffered minor injuries during the escape that required transport to the emergency room for treatment.
It took about 35 minutes to knock down the fire, which totally destroyed the mobile home.
The estimated loss is $11,000.
