KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Two men will welcome in the New Year in the Kalamazoo County Jail after they robbed a person who gave them a ride at gunpoint at about 9:30 last night.
The driver knew one of the suspects, and that was why he was willing to offer transportation. The driver was probably surprised when that acquaintance produced a handgun and began making demands.
The two got out and fled on foot and were quickly tracked down and confronted by Public Safety. A K-9 was brought in and sniffed out the stolen items and the gun that was used which had been discarded by the pair.
A 24 year old Vicksburg man, and a 25 year old Kalamazoo man were both arrested and booked into the County Jail for armed robbery and possession of marijuana.
