DETROIT (WKZO AM/FM) — Visitation will be held today in Detroit for WMU Cheerleader Damond Carpenter, and funeral services will be held tomorrow following his senseless and violent death.
He was killed in a drive by shooting when he drove in between a car full of gunmen, and their intended target, an apartment house near Grosse Pointe in Detroit last Friday.
He was killed instantly.
His grandfather, Richard Carpenter says he told his grandson, to be careful the last time he saw him, but no one could have predicted what happened.
Carpenter was home from WMU for the holiday break.
The gunman have not been captured.
