MATTAWAN (WKZO AM/FM) — A Mattawan Police officer had his cruiser totaled by a wayward driver on I-94 who slid into the police car just as the officer had gotten out to work a crash scene.
It is one of the biggest dangers officers face, far more common than gun wielding bad guys.
Chief Scott Herbert says he is glad no one was hurt.
The at-fault driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
The 2014 Dodge cruiser will probably be totaled out.
