KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A pedestrian was struck and killed on West Main at Nichols Tuesday night, forcing Kalamazoo Township Police to shut down the busy road for several hours.
The collision occurred kitty corner to the Landings Apartment Complex just before 9 p.m. The victim was struck in the crosswalk, and was dead at the scene.
The pedestrian was struck hard enough to be knocked out of their shoe.
The driver remained at the scene.
Additional information is expected to be released later as the investigation unfolds.
