EMMETT TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Battle Creek Police have released the name of the victim involved in a chase that killed a young woman over the weekend.
The dash cam video shows a car driven by 22-year-old Najee McGilbray was all over the road and sometimes the shoulder as she races through red blinking lights and stop signs away from the patrol car at speeds of up to 90 mph.
You can’t see the wreck, but you can hear the officer attack the burning car with a fire extinguisher.
The car had been crushed by the tree that was sheared through when she hit it. It took rescue crews a while to extricate the woman from the wreckage.
McGilbray was reportedly driving on a suspended license.
