PONTIAC, MI (WTVB) – The upper level of the Pontiac Silverdome was knocked down in a second implosion attempt at the stadium Monday afternoon. Sunday, the first attempt failed to topple the main support beams in the upper deck. Cut wiring is credited for the failure Sunday.
The demolition of the stadium is expected to take one year to complete.
The Silverdome is the former home of the Detroit Lions and Detroit Pistons.
