ARLINGTON TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A 24-year old Kalamazoo woman who works at Beacon Specialized Living and was escorting a client on a walk along the 57,000 block of 48th Avenue in Van Buren County Wednesday evening was struck by a passing car and seriously injured.
The victim was breathing when Deputies arrived, but had suffered severe back and head trauma.
She was loaded into an ambulance and rushed into the Emergency Room at Bronson Methodist in Kalamazoo.
Her name and condition have not been released.
The 76-year-old driver who struck her says she did not see the two women until it was too late in the fading light last evening, along the unlit roadway.
Neither the driver nor the client were injured.
Drugs and Alcohol were not a factor. It remains under investigation.
