PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) –There is now a cause of death for murder victim Theresa Lockhart. It has just been released.
Domestic abuse was the reason for her death.
It was apparently a challenge for Kalamazoo County’s Medical Examiner to determine the precise method used to kill her because of the condition of the body after lying for nearly six months in a shallow grave in the Allegan State Game Area.
The autopsy reports has more or less confirmed what Christopher Lockhart claimed in his suicide note, that he choked her to death.
It may be a kind of justice that he died of the same cause, “asphyxia due to strangulation” by hanging himself from a rafter in his basement last month.
Theresa Lockhart’s funeral will be held this coming Monday. She was 44.
