MUSKEGON, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The cousin of convicted killer Jeffrey Willis ipleaded no contest in a Muskegon courtroom Monday in the Jessica Heerings case.
Kevin Bluhm has been charged as an accessory after the fact in relation to the 2013 murder of Jessica Heeringa. Bluhm has told investigators he helped Willis get rid of Heeringa’s body. He later took back those statements to authorities, but the prosecution believes he played a part in her murder and have still stuck him with the accessory charge. Heeringa’s body still hasn’t been found.
Bluhm will be sentenced in January.
Willis was found guilty of first degree murder for the shooting death of Rebekah Bletsch who was killed as she was jogging near her home in Dalton Township in 2014.
Willis testified that an alleged attempt to abduct a teenager in Muskegon last year was a misunderstanding. He also said he had nothing to do with the 2013 murder of Jessica Heeringa.
He still faces charges in both those cases..
