KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Chilly conditions didn’t keep thousands from lining up three and four deep to catch this year’s Holiday Parade in downtown Kalamazoo.
Parents packed their kids into strollers and their winter gear to see the marching bands, the big balloons, the fire engines, the marching units and all the other floats and decorated vehicles that are part of the annual event.
Some of the organizations passed out flyers, some tossed candy while volunteers collected cash and food stuffs for Loaves and Fishes, the local food bank.
This year Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus made their way around the parade route in a horse drawn carriage.
