PUNTA GORDA, FLORIDA (WKZO AM/FM) — No reason was given but a TV station in Southern Florida is reporting that Kalamazoo Public Safety Chief Jeff Hadley has withdrawn his application to fill the same job in Punta Gorda.
No reason was given for the decision, and Hadley has remained mum on the whole issue.
Interviews for the eight remaining finalists are expected to begin later this week.
Grand Rapids Police Chief David Rahinsky, who has family in that area, is still a candidate.
Punta Gorda is much smaller but its populaton is more affluent than either Kalamazoo or Grand Rapids and its on the Gulf.
