KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — It is ground zero in Kalamazoo County, and for this week, more traffic will be diverted as construction continues on the Exchange highrise.
The massive project has already shaved one of the lanes off Michigan Avenue and constricted the corner at Rose Street.
Utilities Director James Baker says from Monday through Friday this week Rose Street from Michigan to Water Street, north of the new project and next to the Radisson will be closed for utility work.
It may not be dead center in Kalamazoo County, but all addresses and compass points in the County begin from the corner of Rose and Michigan Avenue.
There will be detours posted, but between the Mall and the one-way streets, none of them will be quick and easy.
