SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Three Van Buren County men woke up on Thursday morning behind bars after an altercation in downtown South Haven.
Around 7:35 PM, police were called in to a report of a brawl and were able to apprehend a 30-year-old Covert man, a 21-year-old South Haven man and a 20-year-old Bangor man who tried to flee when the officers arrived on the scene. A couple of loaded handguns that two of the suspects had tossed in their flight were recovered, and a search of their vehicle uncovered an undisclosed quantity of packaged marijuana reported stolen in a home burglary in suburban South Haven last week.
No names were disclosed pending arraignment in District Court on various charges as the incident remains under investigation.
