SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A boat explosion on Lake Michigan has left two people hospitalized.
South Haven Area Emergency Services (SHAES) responded to the fire on Monday off of north beach at about 3:45 p.m. Monday. The two who were on the burning boat jumped off and were rescued by another boater in the area and brought to shore.
The fire was extinguished by the SHAES fireboat and the two were transported to Bronson-South Haven Hospital listed in stable condition. The Coast Guard also responded from St. Joseph. The cause of the fire is unknown.
