LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — Governor Snyder is standing by his Congressional Testimony that he didn’t find out about a Legionnaires outbreak in Flint until January, 2016, contrary to testimony given last week,
Snyder’s statement was made to the Republican Chairman and ranking Democrat of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, just hours after they sent him a letter questioning whether his testimony was truthful.
That’s because Snyder’s Urban Initiative Aide, Harvey Hollins testified during HHS Director Nick Lyon’s preliminary hearing last week, that he told the Governor about the outbreak a month before the date Snyder gave to the Congressional panel.
The inquiry from the Congressional Panel included a warning that anyone who lies to Congress after taking an oath is subject to perjury charges.
A number of Democrats say they now have more questions than answers, and are pressing for further clarification on who knew what…and when.
