KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Eleven new Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers have been sworn into office during a badge pinning ceremony during Monday night’s City Commission Meeting.
The new PSO’s come in all shapes and sizes, colors and genders and from a wide range of backgrounds.
Several are WMU grads and most come from the area.
Mayor Bobby Hopewell says they aren’t just employees, they are part of the Kalamazoo Family now.
Chief Jeff Hadley says his expectations are simple and the first is that they care, work hard, be humble, be honest, treat people like you want to be treated, and love and enjoy this community. He says it’s not complicated.
