BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek man is recovering from a bullet wound to the back and two possible suspects are in custody but have not yet been charged with the shooting.
It happened on Greentree Lane at about 9:40 last night inside one of the units at the Arbors Apartment complex. Responding officers found the 23-year-old victim bleeding with two wounds. One to the back and the other to the abdomen.
But after Lifecare rushed him to Bronson Battle Creek and emergency surgery, he is expected to survive.
A car matching the description of one leaving the scene was stopped at Capital and Golden and taken into custody on unrelated gun charges.
Detectives also found evidence that they were at the scene of the shooting but not enough evidence to link either one to the actual shooting.
They are still working they case.
