KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A fire reported late Saturday night in a vacant home on Summit Street near Denner in the South Westnedge neighborhood is being called suspicious.
Fire crews were dispatched at about 11:40 to the two story home which suffered interior damage.
The Fire Marshal will be called in to investigate because fires in empty homes without utilities just don’t start on their own, they usually require human intervention.
Public Safety also responded Saturday night to a small fire in an apartment buildingon the southern edge of Kalamazoo on Bloomfield Avenue near Portage and I-94.
No word of any injuries. No cause has been determined.
