KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man who may have been upset about a neighbor’s noisy party was arrested for felonious assault early Sunday morning but only after an angry confrontation in the 1100 block of March Street and a five hour standoff.
PSO’s were called to respond to a large fight in the Edison neighborhood at 9:30 Saturday night. Officers learned during the investigation that several people had been threatened by a man with a handgun and a machete.
PSO’s surrounded his home nearby and called in the Metro SWAT team. Repeated attempts were made to contact the man who refused to respond.
Police obtained a warrant and at about 3:00 Sunday morning, entered the home and arrested the 34-year-old suspect and booked him into the County Jail for felonious assault and an outstanding warrant.
They also recovered the weapons.
