KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — It was a dangerous night to be on the streets near the WMU Campus.
A 19-year-old is listed in critical condition after he was struck at 12:40 am by a vehicle at West Michigan and Greenwood in an area heavily populated by students.
The teen was transported to Bronson Emergency with multiple serious injuries. The Driver was questioned and released at the scene.
About an hour and a half later, just a few blocks away on Lafayette Street, a 21-year-old male was struck and suffered severe head trauma. He is also in critical condition at Bronson Hospital.
The 21-year-old driver who struck him fled the scene.
A canvass of the neighborhood resulted in the discovery of the car parked on Westbrook and the driver, who was arrested for driving under the influence causing injury, and may face additional counts.
