PORTAGE (WKZO-AM/FM) — You can expect to see a swarm of superheroes at Celery Flats this Saturday morning.
No, it’s not a special meeting of the Justice League. Cosplayers will be lacing up their running shoes for a good cause.
Sarah Joshi with the Kalamazoo County Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Council said the Superhero 5K Run-Walk a fundraiser for her organization.
“Serious runners like to join us because it’s professionally timed,” Joshi said. “Families like it because there’s lot of fun with games, costumes and a DJ.”
Day-of registration is $30 for the 5K at 9:30 a.m. Online registration before the event is $25.
The 5K will be preceded by a 1K for children.
