YPSILANTI (WKZO AM/FM) — Education Secretary Betsy Devos has withdrawn Obama Administration Guidance on handling sexual assault cases on campus, saying it swung too far toward granting women’s rights, and she issued recommendations requiring more due process for men.
First Lady Sue Snyder held her third annual conference on the issue yesterday in Ypsilanti and has shown Secretary DeVos what they are doing at Michigan Universities, and offered their efforts as a resource as DeVos redrafts their replacement proposals.
She says everyone needs to let this play out.
DeVos’s changes are guidance, they are not mandatory and most Michigan Universities say they will keep their current policies in place for now.
