BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM/FM) — A faulty valve at a pumping station is being blamed for discolored water in Battle Creek.
City officials say the water may remain discolored into next week, but it’s still safe to drink. You may want to put off doing your laundry, though.
The valve at the Verona Pumping Station malfunctioned late Thursday, putting loose sediment into the water supply.
Those who see discolored water coming from faucets are being urged to run a cold water flush in their bathtubs, then sinks until it runs clear.
